Rights, Reproductions, and Permissions at NSU Art Museum Fort Lauderdale

NSU Art Museum grants permission to download collection images for personal and non-commercial use, or for fair use as defined by United States Copyright Laws.

Requests for other uses must be made in writing. Fees may apply depending on the type and nature of use.

How to Order

Please complete the External Photo Material & Reproduction Request Form provided below and you will receive an email with a form download link. Download the PDF and fill it out. Then email the completed PDF form to [email protected]. If fees apply, you will receive an invoice for which payment must be received before images can be sent.

Before requesting the form, please review and agree to the Terms of Use at the bottom of the request form.

Rush Requests

Requests received in with less than one month before they are needed will be considered a “rush” request for which a fee will be charged.

Timeframe

To expedite requests, please complete all parts of the Request Form and allow 2-3 weeks for processing. Once payment has been received (if required), please allow an additional 2 weeks for receipt of images. Large and/or complex requests, especially those that require new photography, may require 4 weeks or more to complete.

Copyright Information

Identifying copyright holder(s) and obtaining permission to publish artwork from the NSU Art Museum collection are the responsibility of the requester. Reproduction Request Form

Terms of Use

Applicant agrees that permission is subject to the following terms and stipulations, and further agrees to pay any fees incurred, if any.

Reproduction rights are granted only for the object(s) listed in the External Photo Material & Reproduction Request form, and are limited to the purposes outlined in that same form. No further reproductions are to be made without written consent from the Museum.

This contract grants the applicant non-exclusive rights to reproduce the artwork(s) specified. It extends only to such rights the Museum has to authorize reproduction and does not purport to include any such rights anyone other than the Museum may have under the law of any country.

Full documentation, ownership credit, and copyright information must appear on the same page, on the page adjacent to the reproduction, or in the section reserved for credits.

All reproductions must be made from materials supplied by the Museum. Reproduction of materials supplied elsewhere is prohibited.

Each object must be reproduced in its entirety on all or part of a single page unless otherwise approved in advance. Special permission to reproduce a detail may be arranged with the Museum provided that an approved detail must be identified as such within the credit information. The reproduction must not bleed off the page, be cropped, or altered in any way. Nothing may be superimposed on the image.

The reproduction must be full-tone black and white or full-tone color and may not be reproduced on colored stock. For color reproductions, final proofs must be submitted to the Museum before final production for comparison with the original work of art so that any necessary color correction can be made.

Two copies of the final publication in which this reproduction appears shall be supplied to the Museum.
