Free New Sensory-Friendly Programs at NSU Art Museum
NSU Art Museum Fort Lauderdale has launched Sensory Saturdays, a new sensory-friendly program FREE for children on the Autism Spectrum ages 6-17 and their families.
Experience NSU Art Museum from 9:30 – 10:30 am on the second Saturday of September, November, January and March, before regular museum hours for a sensory-friendly environment and exclusive free museum access. Join us in making art in workspaces and wandering through galleries that have been adjusted for low lighting and reduced sound. Sensory-friendly materials will be available for all visiting children on the spectrum, including noise-canceling headphones, weighted lap pads, soft seating, sensory-friendly art materials and a special gift for each child.
Registration opens one month prior to each date.
Admission to Sensory Saturdays is FREE with a required RSVP. Space is limited.
Registration closes at 5 pm the Friday before each event. Registered families are requested to alert the museum of cancellations in advance. Please only register your own family. If you or someone you know needs assistance registering please call 954-262-0204 or email [email protected]
Sensory Saturdays have been made possible by the Robert E. Dooley Trust NSU Center for Autism Endowment Fund.
