(Fort Lauderdale, FL) – Oct. 23, 2015 – Following on the success of its Summer Starry Nights, NSU Art Museum Fort Lauderdale now introduces Free First Thursday Starry Nights Presented by PNC Bank with FREE museum admission on the first Thursday of every month, from 5 – 8 p.m. Free First Thursday Starry Nights Presented by PNC Bank kicks off Nov. 5.

On Nov. 5, enjoy music by Adam Foster, winner of New Times Best DJ award; 2-for-1 specials on wine and craft beer; light bites in the Museum Café; drawings for prizes and free admission to five exciting exhibitions.

“The arts offer great benefits for everyone, providing a source of beauty, wonder and innovation, as well as tools to promote learning and development,” said Cressman Bronson, PNC regional president, Florida East. “The Starry Nights series makes it possible for people to come enjoy art and music for free. This gem in the community not only complements our already vibrant arts culture, but supports the creative vitality of this region.”

See the museum’s two newest exhibitions: Revolution of the Eye: Modern Art and the Birth of American Television, which explores how artists such as Andy Warhol, Roy Lichtenstein and Marcel Duchamp influenced the look and content of classic TV such as Batman, The Twilight Zone, The Ed Sullivan Show and Laugh-In; and The Indestructible Lee Miller, which examines the remarkable life and work of one of the 20th century’s preeminent photographers. Also on view will be: Pablo Picasso: Painted Ceramics and Works on Paper; War Horses: Helhesten and the Danish Avant-Garde and William J. Glackens: A Modernist in the Making.

Museum goers can also choose from the Museum Café’s special menu of American diner favorites – root beer floats, macaroni and cheese, Waldorf salad – and more, that will be offered throughout January 10 during the presentation of Revolution of the Eye: Modern Art and the Birth of American Television.
