Arturo Herrera, Band, 2011

Located on the Peck Family Terrace.
Arturo Herrera was born in Caracas, Venezuela in 1959, and lives and works in Berlin, Germany. His work displays vibrant explosions of pattern and color. The design grows out of his use of collages as a medium to juxtapose cut-out shapes that appear continually in flux and without hierarchy which he compares to qualities of dance and music. Herrera received a BA from the University of Tulsa, Oklahoma, and MFA from the University of Illinois at Chicago.

Although Stark is most recognized for her paper sculptures, she has explored a variety of media including wood, metal, paint, plexi and animation. Stark has exhibited globally with major shows in New York, Los Angeles, Miami, Chicago, Thailand and Canada. She lives and works in Los Angeles.

Located in Mary R. McCahill Breezeway.
Roberto Behar and Rosario Marquardt are a Miami-based architect/artist team who collaborate to create work that moves between painting, public art, architecture, and urbanism. Behar and Marquardt were born and educated in Argentina and have lived in Miami since 1985. Their art work for the Museum’s Mary R. McCahill breezeway presents intertwining circles of color, which reflect upon the curves of Museum’s building. They received diplomas in architecture from the Universidad Nacional de Rosario in Argentina, with Rosario holding an additional degree in puppet theater direction. Behar completed his post-graduate studies at the Institute for Architecture and Urban Studies in New York and currently teaches at the University of Miami.
