Join artists featured in Close to Home for a roundtable exploring the relationships, communities, and shared experiences that shape their creative practices.
The exhibition brings together artists from across South Florida whose work draws from intimate connections—including romantic partnerships, chosen family, kinship, friendship, artistic collaboration, ancestral lineage, and remembrance. Together, these works reveal how personal relationships can become powerful sources of creative expression.
Moderated by the exhibition’s curators Bonnie Clearwater, Director and Chief Curator; Ariella Wolens, Bryant-Taylor Curator; and Sinaí Rivera, Guest Curator, the conversation will offer an opportunity to hear directly from the artists about their work, personal histories, and the communities that inform their practices.
The discussion invites audiences to reflect on connection, vulnerability, and the ways shared experiences can shape the artmaking process.
