Calling all Broward Teen Artists! Want to see your artwork displayed in an upcoming exhibition at NSU Art Museum? Submissions are now open for the third annual Teen Art Exhibition at NSU Art Museum, (un)Natural Selection. Submit your artwork through our digital application by March 8th to have your work considered for exhibition and for a chance to win prizes!
(un)Natural Selection is an exhibition showcasing artwork in all media by Broward County teens curated by student members of the Teen Art Council at NSU Art Museum. In the spirit of environmental awareness and inspired by Christo and Jeanne-Claude: Surrounded Islands, (un)Natural Selection explores the complex and evolving relationship between humanity and nature. The exhibition serves as both a reflection of the current environmental crisis and a call to action, urging viewers of all generations to engage with the pressing challenges of our time. Set against the backdrop of South Florida’s irreplaceable ecosystems, from the Everglades to the coastline, the exhibition also addresses the region’s unique environmental challenges. (un)Natural Selection provides a safe and supportive space for young artists to express their personal views and challenge conventional views of activism and environmentalism. In a digital age where many young people are increasingly disconnected from the natural world, (un)Natural Selection aims to reconnect us all with the environment and inspire meaningful conversations about how we can collectively act to protect it. (un)Natural Selection is a call for change, a platform for young voices to be heard, and an exploration of the role art can play in influencing social and environmental progress.
