Creativity Exploration: Inspired by Ancestry

February 8 at 12:00 pm - 1:30 pm

Image courtesy of Rose B. Simpson, Conjure II, 2022, Clay, grout, indigenous New Mexico pine from new studio build, 28 × 12 × 14 inches (71.1 × 30.5 × 35.6 cm), Collection of Noel E.D. Kirnon, Image courtesy of the artist and Jack Shainman Gallery, New York.

Inspired by the art of Rose B. Simpson and vanessa german, craft a sculpture to embody the gratitude you have for the ancestors that have come before you.  Participants are welcome to bring personal items they wish to integrate into their sculpture.

Creativity Exploration adult workshops promote the benefits of material exploration and the mind-to-body experience. Studies have shown that 45 minutes of creative activity a day reduces stress and offers mental clarity and relaxation. In addition to producing a sense of well-being, sessions expand participants’ perceptions of forms, while increasing brain connectivity through visual and cognitive stimulation. The workshop is led by educator Lark Keeler, a specialist in mindfulness education.

Preregistration Required. Space is Limited.

Creativity Exploration is sponsored by the Charles P. Ferro Foundation.
