Fear the Invisible
Kandy Lopez’s work explores constructed identities, celebrating the strength, power and confidence of individuals who live in urban, often economically disadvantaged environments. With an aim of educating, communicating and fostering discussion of topics often ignored in today’s multi-cultural society, her images create a personal and socially compelling visual vocabulary that investigates race, the human defense mechanism, visibility through fashion, and gentrification. She holds an MFA in Painting from Florida International University and BFA and BS from the University of South Florida.
FREE for museum members; $12 for non-members. Limited seating.
