Join us for a conversation with Miami-based artist Cara Despain on the art historical understanding of landscapes as idealized settings and our contemporary perceptions. Despain will reference visual culture starting with the Hudson River School painters to her contemporary depictions of the American landscape.
Cara Despain was born in Salt Lake City, Utah. She received her BFA in Drawing and Painting from the University of Utah. Her most recent installation was featured at Fair, an all-women exhibition organized by Spinello Projects during Miami Art Week/Art Basel 2017.
