Join Bonnie Barnett, NSU Art Museum Board Member, collector of contemporary art and Barnes Foundation graduate, and Bonnie Clearwater, Executive Director and Chief Curator of NSU Art Museum, as they engage in a stimulating conversation on the unique art educational methods behind Albert C. Barnes and Violette de Mazia’s teachings at the Barnes Foundation. Barnes’s teaching methods profoundly influenced the art community and served as the basis for the Barnes Foundation’s school.
Bonnie Barnett attended the University of Pennsylvania and the Barnes Foundation. She presently serves on the Executive Board of the Broward Performing Arts Center, the Ft. Lauderdale International Film Festival Advisory Board, and ArtServe’s Advisory Board. For the past eight years she has served as the Chair of Public Art in Broward County, which includes the airport, Port Everglades and all of Broward County. She was also the Chair of Public Art for the State of Florida Arts Council. Presently she is appointed by Commissioner Beam Furr to the Cultural Affairs Council. She was the founding member of Funding Arts Broward (FAB). She is a member of the Ambassador Board of NSU and presently appointed by NSU President/CEO Dr. George L. Hanbury II to sit on the Campaign Board at NSU.
